			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Fill out the <strong>required </strong>information on the <a href="https://plus44.safe-order.net/orchidexchange/shop/secureorder2.htm" target="_blank">secure order form</a>.  Required fields will be indicated with <strong>bold</strong> text.  It is a very simple form. It will open in a new browser window because the form loses data if you navigate away from it.  With two windows open you can click back and forth between it and the catalog as you fill out the form.</p>
<p>The form does <strong>not</strong> automatically total quantities, add Virginia state tax, calculate shipping cost or deduct for any special in effect at the time of ordering.  These fields are <strong>not</strong> required.  You may calculate this information if you wish and include it on the form.</p>
<p> Once you have sent an order we E-mail a confirmation within 12 hours that will provide you with your order total including all applicable tax, discounts and shipping charges.  We will also inform you if we are out of any item.   This comes from a live person.<strong style="font-weight: 400;"></strong></p>
<p>The following information will allow you adjust your spam trap so the confirmation email can pass:  The Confirmation email will come from <a href="mailto:Al@orchidexchange.com?subject=Orchid Order">Al@orchidexchange.com</a> and it will have the word &#8220;orchid&#8221; in the subject.</p>
<p>Credit cards are charged at the time of shipping, not when the order is placed.</p>
<p>You are welcome to phone, <a href="mailto:Al@orchidexchange.com?subject=Orchid order">email</a> or mail an order directly to us. </p>
<p>The order form gathers all the info I need to process an order and gets it to me via secure server.  Look at it before sending an order by regular email so we can gather this information in as few emails as possible.  Please remember, email orders are not secure. Of course you are welcome to send email questions regarding a possible order.  I prefer the secure order form for the actual order, but it is up to you.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Our policy is to create the best customer relationship possible. Your satisfaction is our ultimate goal. Once you receive your plants you have 1 week to report any problems*.  During this inspection period if you are dissatisfied simply return the plant and we will replace it or refund your money.   This guarantee includes plants damaged in the shipping process, if we are allowed to determine the best shipping date.  Contact us within the specified inspection period to let us know it is on the way.  The customer is responsible for the safe return of the plant, and the return shipping cost.  Credit to cards will be made, and refund checks will be sent, after plants are returned.  After 1 week, your green thumb is your best guarantee.</p>
<p>*Due to a budded or blooming Phalaenopsis&#8217; sensitivity to shipping and environmental change, we do not guarantee plants against bud blasting.  We ship Phals in spike or &#8216;tight&#8217; bud not IN BLOOM in order to help avoid this problem. Plants in tight bud are approximately 14 to 21 days from opening their first flower.</p>
<p>There can be no guarantee of future bloomability or the quality of bloom of flowers produced from seed.  All seedling produced plants are unique and there may be differences from cross descriptions and individual flowers used to demonstrate cross potential.  Previously flowered plants are not graded or judged in any way on flower quality, except that we cull out plants with deformed flowers.</p>
<p>In all cases our liability shall extend only to the purchase price of the plants.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>For Check or Money Order Customers</strong>: The confirmation I email you will hold your choices for one week pending the arrival of payment. Please make the check or money order payable to Al&#8217;s Orchid Greenhouse and mail to the address above. Payment must be made prior to shipment.   Please do not send cash through the mail.  In some cases I  may decide to hold orders until checks clear.  Checks must be preprinted with your name.  Starter checks and second party checks will be returned. We reserve the right to hold an order until the check clears.  We reserve the right to refuse an order.  A $27.00 charge will be assessed for returned checks.</p>
<p><strong>For Credit Card Customers</strong>:  Weather permitting, credit card orders will be shipped the next Monday or Tuesday.  Visa and MasterCard only, please.  By purchasing with a credit card you agree to the return policy and procedures which are described in the guarantee. We will not charge your card until the day we pack your order.</p>
<p>Gift plants are returnable for store credit only.</p>
<p><strong>Export</strong>: We do NOT export plants to locations outside the contiguous United States.  We do not ship to Hawaii, Alaska or Puerto Rico.</p>
<p><strong>Privacy Statement</strong>: If we have an email address, we will send an email on the day the plants are mailed so you can be looking for them.  We do not send out any unsolicited mailings.  We do not sell or give away email addresses or any other customer information. Period.</p>
<p><strong>Toll Free Number</strong>:  The toll free number has been discontinued.  Please use the regular business number, 703-771-7753, to reach us during the hours of 8 am to 10 PM EST.  (The toll free number 1-888-878-0600, is printed on the back of our very old plant tags along with the URL to our website.</p>
<p>This catalog cancels all previous listings. All offerings are subject to availability and prices are subject to change without notice. In the event a plant is sold out we will contact you for instructions and offer alternative choices or a refund if you wish.</p>
<p>There is no minimum order. </p>
<p>Virginia residents add 4.5% sales tax.</p>

<p><strong>Shipping Costs</strong>: Most orders require only one box. If your order requires more than one I&#8217;ll let you know when I return your order confirmation.<br />
Packing &amp; Shipping Charges per box:<br />
USPS Priority, $15.00<br />
FedEx 2nd Day, $24.00<br />
FedEx Next Day, $28.00</p>
<p>Listed Rates are a only a guide. Most boxes cost no more than this to ship. However, differences may occur based on the actual weight and dimensions of the box, as well as the shipping distance. Once I know what is being ordered and where it is going I will be better able to calculate the shipping costs. I will let you know in the order confirmation how much shipping is going to cost. I will obtain your approval before charging your cards.</p>
<p>All orders are shipped by Priority US Mail, unless otherwise requested. USPS &#8220;Delivery Confirmation&#8221; costs are included. Please inquire when ordering if you have special shipping requests. FedEx costs are notoriously difficult to estimate. FedEx costs above the amount stated in your order confirmation will be billed to the customer and supporting invoices will be provided. Please use Priority Mail.</p>
<p>Carrier costs other than Priority US Mail are not included in any special that offers free shipping.</p>
<p><strong>Winter shipping</strong>: We have been able to ship to most places all winter long but will hold orders when weather conditions<br />
require it. We use a variety of Styrofoam insulation, bubble wrap and heat packs to make sure your orders arrive safely. There is currently no charge for the extra materials and we keep customer&#8217;s informed of shipping delays and do not charge credit cards until orders are actually shipped. The satisfaction guarantee covers plants damaged during shipping.</p>
<p><strong>Holding Orders</strong>: Weather permitting, orders are shipped the next Monday or Tuesday after payment is received. Since we cover plants damaged in the shipping process, during periods of bad weather, we may decide to hold orders until we feel it is safe. If we decide to hold your order, we will notify you and we will not charge your card.</p>
<p>Customers may request plants be held until a future date. A 50% deposit is required at the time the hold order is placed and must be paid by credit card. Also, please provide a date when the plants will be picked up or shipped. This deposit is non-refundable if the customer cancels the order before the pick up/ship date or if the plants are still here after that date. If *we* are unable to ship your plants or cancel the hold for some reason, we will gladly return your money. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel hold orders. In most cases I will refuse a hold order where the pick up/ship date is more than 4 weeks away.</p>
<p><strong>Lost packages</strong>: If a box has not arrived within 5 days of the delivery notice we email to you, please contact us. We use USPS &#8220;Delivery Confirmation&#8221; on every box sent by Priority mail.</p>
<p>In most cases where a box is late it is still in route. Boxes normally take 2 to 4 days. A few times, boxes have taken up to 15 days and yet the plants inside were reported to be in good condition when the boxes were delivered. However, if the delivery confirmation ticket number tells me that the box has been delivered and the address on on the label is correct please follow these procedures: File a lost package report with your local post office once I send you the tracking number. I will do the same at my post office. It is important that you do not delay because if the box was delivered to a neighbor we may still recover it. Please send me a copy of the report. Please make sure this is done within the week of alerting me to the problem and that the form&#8217;s date shows this. I will cover your loss (the plants and shipping cost of the lost box) once I have a copy of this form.</p>
