You are reading the "Other Orchids" category of my online catalog. Click on an underlined link to see a larger picture, additional pictures, or to read more information if it is available. Please remember that offspring from hybrid matings will be unique and sometimes very different from each other and the individual pictures used to represent the cross. Species grown from seed will show more uniformity (they are species after all) but each plant will still be unique.
DPE0971 Asctm. miniatum (‘Leesburg’ x ‘Pebbles’)
A bright orange head of flowers in the late spring or early summer. These are grown from seed by me right here in Virginia from stock/specimen parent plants still living in my greenhouse.
4″ vanda baskets………….$25.00
DPE1036 Ascf. Twinkle
The parents are (Asctm. miniatum ‘Robert’ AM/AOS x Neo. falcata) This is a well known hybrid that makes small windowsill plants that bloom with orange flowers.
2.5″ mini compots………$19.00 (3 baby plants)
DPE1090 Prn. (Ren. Mem. Marie Killian x Pps. Sunny)
I made this unusual intergeneric vandaceous hybrid when I had too much time on my hands. (These are now planted in clay pots; the picture is old) It surprises me how well it is growing. These have the upright growth habit of the capsule parent, Mem. Marie Killian, despite the long pendulous leaves and short stubby stem of the pollen parent, Pps. Sunny. I can’t wait to see flowers. I suspect they will be red, but I don’t know. The ultimate lip characteristics are also fun to contemplate.
2.5″ clay pots………$15.00
DPE1113 Pps. labukensis ( ‘Old Dominion’, AM/AOS x self)
These seedlings resulted from a selfing of my awarded cultivar of this species. Sold as young seedlings in 2.5″ clay pots, these will eventually want to be mounted and grown so that their 3 foot pencil thick pendulous leaves can hang down.
2.5″ clay pot………$19.00
